MICRODERMABRASION

What is a Microdermabrasion?

Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion is an advanced exfoliation procedure and is one of the leading treatments in the industry due to its instantly smoothed, revitalised, and polished results. It has the ability to treat a vast array of skin concerns, ranging from more mild concerns such as uneven skin tone and texture to more challenging concerns such as mild acne scarring and fine lines. It's also a perfect option for those clients suffering from oily, congested skin with blocked pores and blackheads, as skin is left brighter, clearer, and deep cleansed with pores less defined.

How does it work?

The inert corundum crystals are blasted precisely at the skin surface at varying speeds, and the dead skin cells are removed in the vacuum action to reveal brighter, smoother more radiant skin.

Preparing your skin for a Microdermabrasion

It is important to prepare your skin for the treatment to ensure that not only we can go ahead with the treatment, but that you get the best possible results.

  • Avoid AHAs or Glycolics for 7 days

  • No other exfoliation procedure for 7 days

  • No Botox for 14 days

  • No Dermal Fillers for 28 days

  • If worn, please remove contact lenses prior to treatment

  • With any male clients wanting a full face, please shave the night before to maximise results

Caring for your skin after a Microdermabrasion

Although there is no downtime following a Microdermabrasion treatment, you may experience possible side effects such as redness, mild burning, stinging sensation, or dry and flaky skin. All of these are completely normal and in the unlikely circumstances of these occurring, they will subside within 72 hours.

  • Do not use sunbeds for at least 7 days

  • Do not swim in chlorinated water for 7 days

  • No laser IPL for 14 days and no facial waxing for 3 days

  • Avoid the use of Retinoids, AHAs and ‘harsh’ skincare for 7 days

  • No excessive exercise immediately after

  • Avoid touching and itching your face for 24 hours

  • Avoid makeup for 12 hours

  • Avoid fake tan on the face for 2-3 days post treatment

  • Skin may feel drier or tighter, this is quite normal. Use extra moisturiser if needed

  • Ensure you wear an SPF moisturiser
