There is almost TOO much choice when it comes to skincare brands, with new ones popping up each day. Whether it be Korean Beauty to the more organic products, there is endless options which you could go with. I thought I would share with you all some of my favourite skincare brands/products to help give you the guidance you need to be choosing the correct skincare.
So without a doubt, my favourite brand is the amazing iSCLINICAL from the US. For those of you who don’t know, I actually work with the brand and retail all their products, and I have seen first-hand the incredible results they deliver. All their products are pharmaceutical grade, meaning that the ingredients used are also used in medicines, which is what gives them their high success rate. My all-time favourites include Cleansing Complex, Hydra Intensive Cooling Masque, Active Serum and Extreme Protect SPF30. The Cleansing Complex is a gorgeous silky cleanser that contains 0.5% Salicylic and Glycolic Acid, that gently resurfaces the skin also helping to reduce pore size. Hydra Intensive Cooling Masque is a hero product if your skin is feeling lifeless and dehydrated, it contains Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe, and a blend of Antioxidants to give your skin that boost of life and hydration that it needs. Active Serum is the acne-blasting warrior serum, and when I say this is a ‘Miracle in a bottle’ – I really mean it. It contains Glycolic, Lactic and Salicylic Acid to resurface the skin and deep clear out the pores, whilst other ingredients help to reduce the marks left behind. And finally, one of the most important steps in any skincare routine, SPF. Extreme Protect SPF30 is more than just an SPF, it hydrates and smoothes all in one, let alone the glow it leaves you with. One of my favourite brands which I will always continue to rave about, is La Roche Posay, a French brand developed by dermatologists. I actually started using La Roche Posay when I was 14 and suffering from hormonal breakouts, and not only did it clear up these breakouts, but it was so gentle and hydrating on the skin. Still to this day I use the Toleraine Ultra Nuit night cream. It contains Glycerin and Squalene, both amazing at moisturising the skin while Niacinamide helps to heal and repair. The Effaclar range is AMAZING if you are suffering from breakouts and are on a bit of a budget, specifically the Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel and Effaclar Duo +. The Cleansing Gel is amazing for cleansing the skin without drying, helping to reduce breakouts and reduce excess oil. The Effaclar Duo + is a gorgeous, lightweight moisturiser containing Niacinamide and Salicylic Acid, that helps to control sebum and breakouts whilst keeping the skin moisturised.
Another brand close to my heart is Dermalogica. I worked for Dermalogica before I went fully self-employed and fell in love with the products. They are all super clean, free from fragrance, parabens, and any other nasty things and they have a wide variety of products to choose from, catering for all skin types. Some of my favourite products from the brand are Daily Resurfacer, Ultracalming Cleanser and Multivitamin Thermafoliant BODY. The Daily Resurfacer is a leave-on chemical exfoliant, that is incredible for clearing up under-the-skin congestion and bumps. They come as little finger mitts that you wipe over your face daily, they also contain Hyaluronic Acid so are SO hydrating for your skin which you wouldn’t always get with chemical exfoliators. Ultracalming Cleanser is a HERO for dry, irritated, and sensitive skins, including those with eczema and psoriasis. To be honest, the whole Ultracalming range are HEROES. The cleanser is definitely one of my favourites, it’s so soothing and hydrating and reduces any redness and irritation in the skin. Now onto Multivitamin Thermafoliant, but the body version. I always talk about this product as it has really helped me in the past with my keratosis pilaris (little bumps) on the tops of my arms. It smells gorgeous and really gives you that luxury, spa-like feel whilst helping to improve skin concerns.
Finally, one of my favourite ‘active’ moisturisers is from the gorgeous brand Kate Somerville. It’s called ExfoliKate Glow Moisturiser. This moisturiser contains a duo of AHAs, Glycolic and Lactic combined with fruit enzymes to help exfoliate the skin gently whilst moisturising – helping to diminish dryness and reveal a gorgeous radiant skin. Be cautious when using this in the summer and be sure to wear SPF on top of it.
So I hope with all my recommendations you might be a little bit closer to knowing which skincare route you want to go down, and remember, any money spent on skincare is an INVESTMENT!
